I “rescued” a print from the garbage at work. It wasn’t my taste, exactly, but I planned to donate it to our a favourite charity (Child Haven International) for a fund-raiser. I’m sure it would have raised a hundred dollars or so.
Unfortunately, my nephew was here helping with some work and knocked it over and the glass broke, scratching the print. Now, I will have to pay to have it fixed before I donate it. I can’t bear to throw it out.
Good news that you were able to get it fixed, but there is also something kind of cool about the broken glass, like it’s meant to be a piece of art called “shattered existence” or something.
Oh no! What a pity. It looks heavy enough, you’d think it would be safe from the wind.
but totally fixable….. ๐
I know! It’s quite heavy . . . but the wind was strong that day.
It was. Expensive, but fixable.
Oh dear. Hope it didn’t damage the picture!
Did you get it fixed? Looks like a beautiful art piece. I hope you got it fixed so you are able to enjoy it again.
That’s a shame when something like that happens.
Bummer!
Judging from some of the pieces on the floor, it looks like a few other things got broken too.
It did — but I was luckily able to replace it on eBay. ๐
I did! It’s an original serigraph called “Pacific Heights” by Thomas McKnight. Here’s a link to a nice .jpg: http://www.thomasmcknight.com/images/serigraphs/k-31.jpg
Good eye!
Yes, a couple of my Belleek pieces got smashed, too.
Yowsaa!
I hope you were able to reframe it.
I did! But it’s hanging in a different room now. ๐
Well, I’m glad you got it fixed, and moved it. It’s very pretty!
alls well that ends well!!
Great take on the theme but sorry about your broken piece, it looks beautiful!!

THat is a shame. I hope it could be fixed
Lucky nobody got hurt at the same time!
Oh, that is a shame! Fortunately there are some good people who can do that kind of repair nowadays. good luck!
How depressing! Thank heavens you were able to get it fixed.
Have a great weekend.
Wow, that was some wind!
I’m late in visiting everyone for Photo Hunters, but better late than never! Have a wonderful week.
Hi Lisa,

Excellent choice for the theme.
