In July of ’09, a sudden gust of wind knocked this large serigraph off of my mantle. As you can see, it was very broken.

Oh no! What a pity. It looks heavy enough, you’d think it would be safe from the wind.

  2. Freda Mans says:

    but totally fixable….. 🙂

  3. lisa says:

I know! It’s quite heavy . . . but the wind was strong that day.

  4. lisa says:

    It was. Expensive, but fixable.

  5. Susanne says:

Oh dear. Hope it didn’t damage the picture!

  6. Eden says:

Did you get it fixed? Looks like a beautiful art piece. I hope you got it fixed so you are able to enjoy it again.

  7. Carver says:

That’s a shame when something like that happens.

  9. Sparkle says:

Judging from some of the pieces on the floor, it looks like a few other things got broken too.

  10. lisa says:

It did — but I was luckily able to replace it on eBay. 🙂

  11. lisa says:

I did! It’s an original serigraph called “Pacific Heights” by Thomas McKnight. Here’s a link to a nice .jpg:

    Good eye!

Yes, a couple of my Belleek pieces got smashed, too.

I did! But it’s hanging in a different room now. 🙂

I “rescued” a print from the garbage at work. It wasn’t my taste, exactly, but I planned to donate it to our a favourite charity (Child Haven International) for a fund-raiser. I’m sure it would have raised a hundred dollars or so.

Unfortunately, my nephew was here helping with some work and knocked it over and the glass broke, scratching the print. Now, I will have to pay to have it fixed before I donate it. I can’t bear to throw it out.

  21. lisa says:

  22. Jerry says:

How depressing! Thank heavens you were able to get it fixed.

    Wow, that was some wind!

I’m late in visiting everyone for Photo Hunters, but better late than never! Have a wonderful week.

    Hi Lisa,

Good news that you were able to get it fixed, but there is also something kind of cool about the broken glass, like it’s meant to be a piece of art called “shattered existence” or something.

    Excellent choice for the theme.
