At the end of 2018 I set a goal for myself of reading all of the books on the Top 100 Fantasy and Top 100 Science Fiction book lists. It was ambitious.

Current and Future Goals and Dreams (2019-20)
Each year I like to look back over the previous year, and then set goals for the coming year. Many people do this on Jan 1st; I prefer to do it on my birthday. I often refine the accomplishments and goals until my new year, Samhain, but the bulk of the work is done on or around my birthday.

2019 Goal: Top 100 Sci-Fi Novels Update #6
At the end of 2018 I set a goal for myself of reading all of the books on the Top 100 Fantasy and Top 100 Science Fiction book lists. It was ambitious. Lately I’ve been concentrating on the Sci-Fi and I’m now at 48 sci-fi books.
It’s been slow going this month, these books have been squeezed in between Cherryh’s Cyteen trilogy, Robinson’s StarDance trilogy, and assorted mysteries. (You didn’t think this was *all* I read, did you?
Musings on Faith
Today we walked the dogs at Grandview (Dog Park) and just as we entered I saw a couple of bald eagles soaring high overhead. A little later in the walk, a pair (likely mated) of Red Shouldered hawks landed on a nearby tree, and then took off over the edge of the hill, riding the thermals.
Current & Future Goals Update #1
Back in September I shared my list of goals for the coming year. I usually use the time from my birthday to the end of the calendar year to revise and update the list (should it need it). here’s my update.

I also like to do a tarot reading (that post is here, which opens a .pdf file).
Broke my streak (life update)
It took almost 18 months, but I finally broke my write-a-blog-post-every-week streak. Ah well, guess I’m not perfect.*
To be fair, breaking the streak meant traveling to Paris, San Francisco, and then Georgia within a month, along with some personal things that I’m not ready to share here (yet), so it wasn’t anything small that broke the mold.
So, here I am, catching up a bit.
Words of Me: Two
Creating a kind of mission statement.
1. My mind, body and soul are very important to me. I promise to take care of them by…
Treating my body with respect for the hard work it does so elegantly. Cherishing its strength and helping it achieve its best level of health. Feeding my brain art, literature, music, and puzzles to keep it sharp and active. Filling my soul with art and music, and beauty so that I might maintain my divine connection with the Lord and Lady.
